The University Of Lagos, Faculty Of Pharmacy building caught fire just last night between the early hours of today (Sunday). It was said that the individuals that went to read in class first alerted their colleagues on a whatsapp group about the fire outbreak at the faculty. Most sentimental students took the gist as joke at first until pictures started rolling out. a call was
put through to inform the Subdean of the faculty who confirmed the fire. Efforts were made by both students and security personnel around who called the Fire Service who responded quickly to rescue the situation. As to the origin of the fire outbreak it's either an electrical appliances was left on at the close of work due to the poor power supply in Luth(which we pray the school authority and Federal Government should look into).....no one knows for now...but rumour has it that it was a student who could have done it, due to reputation the faculty holds for its harsh hand and strong morals they uphold especially with the "ongoing results issue with Pharmacology and Biochemistry for now which the Vice Chancellor of UNILAG should Look into "because it is killing the students at all levels".
The fire started at the office of a lecturer in Pharmaceutical Chemistry department, it destroyed the office completely, the Decking(2nd Floor) of the building prevented the fire from spreading to nearby offices . The reaction of students to this incident was alarming as some people have been happy about the outbreak..saying it serves Pharmacy right..but I don't think so..the COMPSSA(College of Medicine and pharmaceutical Science students Association) Executives and PANS (Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students) Executives worked endlessly to put the fire to a rest...and for that we thank them for their efforts . God Save Pharmacy...and all Pharmacy students there is still PharmChem class on Monday before you start rejoicing....
New Laws in Faculty Of Pharmacy should be looked into VC they need your attention and support.
